Multidimensional Computerized Adaptive Testing Simulations in R

چکیده

Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) is a beneficial test technique that decreases the number of items need to be administered by taking in accordance with individuals' own ability levels. After CAT applications were constructed based on unidimensional Item Response Theory (IRT), Multidimensional (MCAT) have gained momentum improvement multidimensional IRT (MIRT) models recent years. Researchers often benefit from simulation studies order design final adaptive testing application and effectiveness they developed different methods. Recently, R has become one most widely used programming languages Monte Carlo Simulation since it free open-source software. The aims this study are present MCAT process step environment, examine effects conditions researchers can handle during according two dimensional models, effect treating structures as results. In direction, datasets generated within-item dimensionality between-item customizations, results compared All commands required for each example explained shared condition.

Multidimensional Computerized Adaptive Testing in Recovering Reading and Mathematics Abilities

Under a MIRT CAT’s (multidimensional computerized adaptive testing) testing scenario, an ability estimate in one dimension will provide clues for subsequently seeking a solution in other dimensions. This feature may enhance the efficiency of MIRT CAT’s item selection as well as its scoring algorithms compared with its counterpart, unidimensional CAT (UCAT). The shadow test approach ( van der Li...

Multidimensional Computerized Adaptive Testing Based on Bayesian Theory

Effective and efficient assessment of a learner’s proficiency has always been a high priority for intelligent e-Learning environments. The fields of psychometrics and Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT) provide a strong theoretical and practical basis for performing skills assessment, of which Item Response Theory (IRT) is the best recognized approach. For assessing multiple skills at once, which i...

Bayesian Computerized Adaptive Testing

Computerized adaptive testing (CAT) comes with many advantages. Unfortunately, it still is quite expensive to develop and maintain an operational CAT. In this paper, various steps involved in developing an operational CAT are described and literature on these topics is reviewed. Bayesian CAT is introduced as an alternative, and the use of empirical priors is proposed for estimating item and per...

Computerized Adaptive Testing

A method of item pool design is proposed that uses an optimal blueprint for the item pool calculated from the test specifications. The blueprint is a document that specifies the attributes that the items in the computerized adaptive test (CAT) pool should have. The blueprint can be a starting point for the item writing process, and it can be used to assemble item pools in a system of rotating p...
